It's A Great Day to be a BEAVER!!!!

Wow, What a great game. Chris and I think it was one of the greatest games we've been to. Reser Stadium was so loud. I think it has only been louder when we beat USC 2 years ago, and maybe at a Civil War game.
The kids stayed with Grandma & Grandpa- which ended up being great, because we spent most of the game standing up and yelling and cheering so that would've been a little hard with the kids. In the first picture with us, is my friend Amie (who I met at OSU) and her dad. It was a fun game, we were giving lots of high fives.

We tried to get a picture leaving the stadium too, but it didn't turn out. It was one of the only times I have seen so many people stay until the end of the game and then rush the field, and hang around for a while. So by the time we were heading back across campus to our car, so was almost everyone else. The streets were packed from one side to the other. It was great!!

I hope the Beavers can continue to play like they did on Thursday. If they do I think they're unstoppable!!
Oh this weekend we also had our big move. All is moved and the kiddos are doing well so far. Once we get boxes out of the rooms I will take some pictures and send them.

Caleb's 1st Day of School

Doesn't he look like the happiest kid ever. He was so excited for class. This is how he looked all morning. He was even ready to go to his room right after we dropped Chloe at her class. His class is 30min after Chloe's starts, so we headed to the library to pick up a Land Before Time movie that we had reserved. We walked around outside for a little while, then headed back in. While walking into the building we ran into Ben & Gavin Secrest, some friends of Caleb's (Kim & Brian are our friends from college). So Caleb was really excited to see some boys he knew. They all played outside the classroom and Caleb kept trying to open the door.

The teachers opened the door and Caleb pushed through everyone to be the first one in. He made a bee-line for the trains and cars and trucks on the floor. Actually all of the boys did. There are like 8-10 boys in this all 2year old class and only 2 girls. Anyway, Caleb barely cared when I said goodbye. He was happily playing. So I went to Starbucks with Kim. It was nice to get out and have some adult conversation and quiet time. But oh I felt bad when we got back. So the class is 1 1/2 hours long. The teachers are Chloe's old teachers so they know how badly Caleb has wanted to be in their class and play. They said he started crying and calling for mama about 5 min. after I left. They didn't call me because they would distract him and get him to play for a couple of minutes and then he would start up again. We got back with about 20 min left in class and from outside in the hallway all I heard was mama, mama. I peeked in the window and there was Caleb crying and looking up at teacher Gail like where did my mama go? He saw me so I went in for a few minutes and played with him. Then it was snack time so I told Caleb I would go wait in the hall while he had crackers. He looked sad, but I think he was hungry. He sat and stuffed almost all of the ritz crackers into his mouth then headed back to the door for me.

When Chris asked Caleb how his first day of school was he said good. So we will see how next week goes. Hopefully better.

Chloe's 1st Day of Preschool

Here is Miss Chloe posing for me with her new Princess backpack. She did one shot just showing me the backpack, one sticking her butt out to the side to smile at me and show me her backpack, and then one of just her smiling a big happy smile.

She was so excited for her first day of Preschool. She found a toy she wanted for show and tell, put it in the backpack and then asked me to help her put it on her back. This was like 1 hour before we needed to leave the house. Once it was finally time to head to school she wanted to wear the backpack in the car in her carseat. I explained it wasn't very safe and she wouldn't be buckled in well enough but that she could hold it on her lap until we got to school.

(side note-- her show-n-tell was a golf ball and half of a plastic Easter Egg. I have no idea what she said about it at show-n-tell but okay??? She's an interesting one!!)

This year she is in a new class just down the hall from where she was last year. (She had the same teachers since she was about 2 and was starting to act up for them- a little too familiar- so we decided it was time for a new class.) She will go Wednesdays & Fridays. I dropped her off and said ok Caleb and I need to go can I have a hug? She just kept painting and said bye in a monotone voice.

When Caleb and I got back we got a tour of the room with the most favorite place and thing of all....can you guess?? If you know what Chloe is into right now I bet you can guess..............You're right it was Buzz Lightyear and Woody from Toy Story. They have a bunch of Disney character dolls so I am thinking that is where Chloe spent most of her time today.

So she goes back on Friday and I will have to post again, because it will be Caleb's first day at school too. There is a 2 year old only class with Chloe's old teachers for 1 1/2 hours at the same time Chloe is in class. I know what you are probably thinking....What am I going to do with a whole 1 1/2 hours to myself?? Well I don't quite yet know. I'm guessing for the first day I will stick close by with a hot chocolate and a good magazine in case Caleb freaks out. But if he does well who knows I may go to the store all by myself. There's a whole world out there to explore :-)

A BEAVER WIN !!!

Saturday was the OSU Beavers first home game of the season- so of course where else would we be but Corvallis!! Mike and Valerie were able to join us and enjoy a really great Beaver victory.

This year we are on the "old side" of the stadium, which was really nice for this game. It was in the 80's and pretty warm for most of the game. In our old seats we would've had the sun in our faces for most of the game.

The kids did great. And Caleb is already starting to do the O-S-U cheer. He says O S U, then waits then says fight fight. It's really cute. And this year Chloe is trying to spell the letters with her arms like we do. She has the O and the U, but the S is rather tricky.

Caleb and his big boy bike.

This is under our carport. Chris's nice make shift fence to keep the kids in and keep other people out.
Caleb has sat on Chloe's bike (the John Deere one- the only reason we have a green and yellow bike at our house!!) for like I don't know the last month, and maybe pedaled it once or twice but really had to reach for the pedals. He must have gone through a growth spurt because today he was able to reach both pedals and pedal he did. Around and around he went. A couple of times he was going so fast as he turned the corner that he got up on only one of the training wheels.
He loves the bike and rode it for almost an hour today. Then took a nice long 3 hour nap. Maybe we should ride bikes everyday. :- )
Chloe on the other hand rides the John Deere bike for like a minute then "parks" it and returns to her nice red Radio Flyer tricycle. I think if it were up to her she would be riding it forever.
We're very excited that at our new house that we will be moving to at the end of the month, we will finally have a garage. So on those nice Oregon rainy days, I can move the car out and let the kids ride bikes and have fun. Also we have quite a few cul-de-sacs in our neighborhood to practice in.

Big Beaver Fan.

Yes so I know my OSU Beavers have not started out so well, but that doesn't mean I am not still a Beaver Believer. Any way that is why I chose the color's for my blog site. At least for football season they will stay that way. Maybe I will even manage to get a picture of the 4 of us in our Beaver gear this weekend. We'll see.
