Eagle Crest

What a fun week long vacation in Redmond, OR. We drove into Bend on the 4th of July to see if we could catch the fireworks. We got the closest spot you could possibly get right near the butte where they set the fireworks off. The show was awesome and it was only about a 30 minute drive back to Redmond.

We went swimming almost every day, went on a family bike ride, toured the Lava Caves in Bend and the kids even tried fishing.

There are no pictures of us swimming because all 4 of us were in the pool and wet most of the time. I will tell you the kids had lots of fun doing Cannonballs. Chloe especially loved to shout "cannonball" right before jumping in. And they got lots of practice swimming with their lifejackets on and off. The armstrokes are looking good, now on to side breathing!
Takin' a break on the playground in the middle of our bike ride.

High Desert Museum

It was very hot the day we went to the High Desert Museum. And the first thing we did was go to a Raptor show that was outside with no seating. The show was about 30 minutes long. Chloe made it about 5 minutes before sitting on the bench near by us that was for elderly people. Caleb, well he didn't even watch the show and kept saying to me "boring". Glad he enjoyed the rest of the animals!
checking out the butterfly that landed nearby, they wanted it in the picture too.

Feeding the Wildlife

The animals are all very used to people and I think used to people feeding them. We did feed them but only good stuff. :- ) The chipmunk's got Multigrain sunchips and the deer got carrots!

Lava Caves

We went to check out some of the sites Bend and the surrounding area had to offer while on vacation. Our first stop was the Lava Caves (or tubes).
Me in my Beaver Snuggie, Caleb wearing my coat. (in the caves it is only 40 degrees and the kids didn't bring their coats- so they were wearing ours)
Chris, glad we got the lantern- it produced some heat to keep him warm, as he was the only one without a coat or snuggie!
Inside the cave
Chloe & Chris went almost to the end. (she had to duck down and he was crawling.) They went in about 5000ft. Caleb and I went about 3500ft before he was tired and cold.
