Harvest Festival

Last night was the school Harvest Festival.  The kids had so much fun Pumpkin Bowling, running the Hay Maze and getting their faces painted.  The paint lasted through the night and they were able to wear it to school today.

Justin Bieber

For Chloe's 8th birthday I took her to her first concert.  Carly Rae Jepsen (Call Me Maybe) was opening up for Justin Bieber at the Rose Garden.  I don't know who Chloe was more excited to see, as she likes them both.

We had dinner together than rode the Max into Portland.  It was crazy busy.  The concert was a sell-out.  Chloe and I weren't prepared for how loud it was.  I was expecting screaming, but I have not heard anything like that before.  It wasn't the kids that were say Chloe's age to 10 years old, it was the teeny boppers.

First time hearing all the screaming girls.
Our view from our seats.
Acting so cool.
She's so excited.

The one and only picture I managed to get of Justin Bieber.  He came into the arena with huge black/silver wings on, suspended from cables.  Pretty awesome entrance.

We both had fun watching and hearing all the songs we knew.  When one of Chloe's favorites was being sung she would stand up and dance and sing.

It was a rather late concert though, so we left to head home at 10:15pm, with Justin Bieber still on stage.  I just don't think we could've stayed any longer.  Chloe was so tired.  She had a fun ride home on the Max.  We ran into a girl from her class who had gone to the concert with her mom, so the girls sat by each other and chatted about the concert and school the whole way home.

Fun Run

Earlier this month the kids had their school Fun Run.  They'd been practicing lots at school and running laps inside our house as well.

They both asked me to run with them, how could I say no.  I decided to watch them run the first 2 laps each before joining them.  I was able to get pictures of them that way.

They were lucky to still have beautiful weather for their run, almost too warm!  During the run their were cheering stations.  One with bubbles, a couple with cheering mom's and kids, and one with squirt bottles.  The kids had lots of fun running.

I'm so proud of both of them they did great!  Caleb was up first, he ran 18 laps!  Last year he only ran for 15 minutes, but now that he's in 1st Grade he ran the full 30 minutes.  He was running my pace the whole way, which means I can maybe run it with him 1 more year before he's too quick for me.

Chloe did awesome too.  She walked a lot less this year than last.  She ended up running 15 laps!

Here comes Caleb after his first lap.
