Chloe's 6th Birthday- Family Party

Well it's hard to believe, but my little girl is 6 years old- well actually not 'til tomorrow. But we had her party this weekend. Always fun to have the family over and catch up and see everyone. Oh and Chloe got to help make her cake this year. She put in a request with Grandma Patti for one of her fabulous ice cream cakes, and she was lucky enough to get to help make a few of them.

Harvest Festival

Chloe's school did a Harvest Festival. The kids got to paint and decorate pumpkins, do on a scavenger hunt around the school by following clues, dance in the gym and try the Haunted House if they dared!

(this picture was taken with flash, it was actually really dark in the haunted house)

Chris and the kids were trying to scare me on the way home, but I think I got them!

Tinkertoys

If you know Chloe, you know she loves Tinkertoys. So I surprised her with a mommy/daughter date to the Children's Museum to check out their new exhibit- Tinkertoys. There was almost no one left at the museum when we went, which was great. Chloe and I were the only ones in the exhibit, and got to move from one area to the next and back again without waiting for turns. :- ) She ran from one area to the next with a huge smile on her face.

2nd Pumpkin Patch

We decided to hit one more Pumpkin Patch before the rain hits for the season. We went to my favorite, Lakeview Farms. You ride a train out to the pumpkin patch through a spooky tunnel. Then after you pick your pumpkin, do the kid hay maze and jump off the hay pyramid you ride a boat back across a small pond- looking for mysterious creatures in the water along the way.

Chloe said this year the tunnel wasn't scary because she's older and she knows it's not real.

Carving Pumpkins

So this year I forgot to take pictures right after we had them carved. I might take one later today and post it, but be forewarned, they are getting gross. The poor pumpkins are having mouth mold! The kids had fun carving them and cleaning them out, but I guess we just did it too early this year. We have a couple pumpkins left that we might just color. I'll try to take pictures if we do.

Caleb Bathroom Self-wiping attempt

So Caleb has been working on wiping after #2 for a while. I have been "supervising" his attempts. But today I was busy when he went into the bathroom, so when he called out that he was done, I said "you try by yourself, and I'll be there in a minute." This is what I found when I went in to check on him......

Pumpkin Patch

What a great trip to the Pumpkin Patch. The weather was beautiful for the middle of October. Sunny and almost 65 degrees. The kids had fun climbing the hay pyramid and riding the tractor/bus out to the patch to pick out their pumpkins.

Here's some pics. from the trip.

1st Cougar Run

Last week was Chloe's first Cougar Run. It's the "fun run" fundraiser at her school. The kindergartner's run for 15min. Then 1st-5th grade all run 30min! Chloe did a great job. She ran 8 1/2 laps, and only stopped to walk a few times. And she was lucky enough to have Caleb run with her for half of them!

All the Kindergartners lined up and Ready to Run!

Chloe's 1st Lap.

Do you run faster when holding hands?
