Caleb's 4th Birthday & Father's Day

Chloe holding her baby brother on the day he was born.

WOW, I can't believe it my baby boy is 4 years old today. We had a busy weekend of parties to celebrate with family and friends. I'm lucky that he still likes to cuddle with me. When he gives that up I will be very sad.

We bought a bounce house, so we set it up in the garage for the kids to have some fun. (the weather has been horrible this spring- at the beginning of the week they said 75 and sunny, we ended up with 65 and cloudy with some rain) They had lots of fun bouncing each other all over the place in it.

I think for Caleb the age of 4 might be a moody one. He started the day so excited that it was the day for his party, then excited as his friends showed up, then so sad when his best friend from school Jacob wasn't there yet. It was like he wasn't going to have any fun unless Jacob showed up. At one point he just stood at the front window looking out with his head in his hands. Well thank goodness, not long after that Jacob showed up. Then all was right in Caleb's world and he had a wonderful party. Then after everyone left he was sad again, because "everyone is gone". He loves playing with everyone, so I am thinking we will be doing lots of playdates this summer.

Oh he got lots of Star Wars Legos for his birthday, so wish me luck in the next couple of weeks. Chloe is really into the Star Wars too, so there have been many squabbles over the toys already. Oh goodness!!

We're hoping on this first day of summer that the sun decides to come out, and stay out. We are ready!!

Caleb's Transformer Cupcake. It fell apart, so I said that they landed on a big rock and it broke!!

Grumpy and sad Caleb waiting for his friend Jacob.

Happy that Jacob his best friend from school made it to the party!!

Last Day of Preschool

So I am finally up and down the stairs now, so I am able to post pictures from the kids last day of Preschool. It was "Play Day" for their last day of school. There was a juggler in one area, then the gym had a bunch of game type stations, then another room had a bunch of activities. The kids were moving non-stop the whole 2 1/2 hours. And then there was Chloe's favorite- dirt for snack.(jello pudding with oreo cookies)

Oh, I was really lucky. There are only 4 classes in the afternoons, including Caleb's 3's class. So they split the classes up so that all 4 classes wouldn't all be at the same activities. They put Chloe & Caleb's classes together, which made it really easy for me to see both of them. I was in a wheelchair at their celebration and that would've been really hard to move from one group to the other. With Chris's help I was able to see all of their activities.

**I'm up and around now moving without crutches. I know I still have a long road ahead but am glad I had the surgery. My doctor said that the cartilege was pretty bad and so was the inflammation. She actually said "I am surprised you weren't in more pain going into the surgery". She also said I would be feeling alot better once the healing started and that it was a good thing I had the surgery. I'm doing Physical Therapy 2 x a week and it seems each day I am able to do a little bit more. Before long the kids and I will be walking to the park down the street!!
