Tooth #4

The Tooth Fairy will be hitting our house again tonight! We finally got one of Chloe's bottom teeth to come out, after being wiggly since Easter! She's writing a note to bargain with the Tooth fairy, but I told her she better be nice or the Tooth Fairy might not leave her anything. We'll see. Maybe the Tooth Fairy will write Chloe a note too!

Grandma Rosie's 90th Birthday!

This past weekend we headed down to Springfield for a big milestone, my Grandmother's 90th Birthday! We left the kids with cousin Brooke and a babysitter and went for an all adult dinner. It was fun to see family and catch up, and to hear all the stories my aunts and uncles had from their childhood.
We're looking forward to an even bigger celebration in July when most of my cousins and their kids will be out, from all over the country, for a weekend long event!

Class Field Trip to the Alpaca Farm

The weather has not been very nice this spring. We lucked out with a sunny but cold day for the field trip to the Alpaca Farm. The kids got to listen to all kinds of interesting information about Alpaca's and what their hair is used for. They sat really well for about 7 min. then the lady went on and on about stuff us parents found interesting. Next they got to do 3 separate stations. 1- The Alpaca Alphabet book read by the farm owner's mother. 2- Coloring Alpaca sheets and petting the Alpacas. 3- Making Alpaca soap scrubbers. (hopefully I don't offend anyone- but I have never seen this soap thing done, and don't know anyone who will actually use it.) The kids wrapped Alpaca hair around a bar of Ivory soap, sudsed it up and then added some colorful Alpaca hair. It's supposed to be used like a wash cloth and soap together. We told Chris it was his Father's Day present and he told me "No thanks". So Caleb just has it on his bookshelf.

They had a mini store, with everything inside handmade from the Alpaca Hair. They dyed it themselves, and everything was made by the owner or her mother!

Caleb's Final Preschool Performance

Here's a couple pictures from Caleb's music performance. They did most of the songs they learned throughout the year. So cute! So proud of him that he remembered all the words. He was walking around the house singing the songs for weeks!
Chloe wanted to show her support for Caleb too!
Caleb waiting to go in with his class. He saw me and said "mommmm" then gave me this little smirk!

Mother's Day!

Caleb and neighbor Jeremiah spelling out Happy Mother's Day with cars. What a great idea. We printed it off for Jeremiah to give to his mom for Mother's Day.

A Day on The Mountain

Finally a nice day so we headed up to Mt. Hood to watch some Pond Skimming. (people dressed up in costumes, trying to snowboard across a little pond without falling in.) It was nice and sunny but not very warm, so the ones that did fall in looked very cold! We weren't very close so I didn't get good pictures of that. Since most of the people were there to enjoy that, the "bunny slope" was not very busy and both kids got another chance to practice on skiis.

Chloe 1st Science Fair!

This year Chloe decided to participate in the Science Fair for her school as only a Kindergartner. The Title Does It Sink or Float?

She went around the house and backyard and found the objects she wanted to test. I made her do it all herself with just a little help asking the questions along the way.

I was so proud of her. I think she was the only Kindergartner who wrote everything themselves. She sounded out the words and wrote them the way they sounded. It looked great. Unfortunately she got sick the day of the Science Fair and had to miss presenting it. I walked up to the school and got a picture of it for her, as well as pictures of some of her friends, so she could see them.
