Caleb's Out of This World 5th Birthday

On Caleb's birthday (his actual birthday). He got to run around and hang out with his buddies! What more could a kid ask for, oh yeah, Daddy taking the day off work to play with you too!

Father's Day & Caleb's 5th Birthday

This is becoming our tradition. Father's Day at our house and the whole family is invited. We also celebrate Caleb's birthday as it is usually within days of the occasion. Lots of family came, even my sister Shannon from Arizona made it for a visit, a nice present for my parent's 35th wedding anniversary!

The kids just learned to ride their bikes completely by themselves a few days before and wanted to show everyone. It was short lived, as there were so many cars along the road it was just too hard. Will have to get a video up of the 2 of them sometime. They are doing awesome!
So sweet!

Chloe's Field Day & Last Day of Kindergarten!

Oh my goodness, how can it possibly be? She's done with her first year of school. Kindergarten sure went by fast! On the last week of school they got to have "move up day" where they met their teacher for 1st grade and the kids that will be in their class next year. Chloe was very excited to tell me 3 of her best friends will be in her class. Nathan E, Peyton and Miriam. She actually has 8 or 9 kids from her class moving into the same 1st grade class. Nice to have lots of familiar faces!

During the last week of school they also had Field Day. They got to do a bunch of fun games outside. The weather was a bit chilly but it didn't bother the kids at all.

Then the last day- wow! Chloe was emotional the night before and crying going to sleep. She said she was gonna miss all of her friends and her teacher who she loves. We had lots of talks about seeing kids over the summer and the fact that her teacher may end up subbing in her class next year- as she only teaches morning kindergarten. All was good....until I came to pick her up. She was crying walking out with all the other kids. I miraculously held it together until our last goodbye to her teacher. We were all crying before we started walking home. What a great year it was! Looking forward to a fun summer!

Starlight Parade

We took the kids and 2 of the neighbor kids downtown to check out the Rose Festival and the Starlight Parade. The weather was beautiful and the kids & Chris & I had lots of fun. We had enough tickets to all go on one big ride together. We chose the Ferris Wheel. Fun to see so much stuff from up high. We also got to walk through the Exotic animals. Lots of snakes and lizards, but also a Tiger, full size. I don't think we have ever seen one this close before, and the one at the Zoo is always sleeping.

After good food and fun walking around the festival we headed over to find a spot for the parade. 10 min into the parade Caleb came back by where I was standing. Wanted to know what time it was- 9pm. I picked him up, he watched the parade for about 5 more minutes and then conked out for the rest of it! Good thing there were some chairs close by, that boy is getting heavy!

Riding the Bus

For our school any Kindergartner can ride the bus home. They get out of school at about 11am, so they don't need the buses. Chloe hasn't been able to ride the bus, since we were always on our way to pick Caleb up from preschool.
This week was so exciting for Chloe- she get's to ride the bus home from school for the last 3 weeks of school. All of 3 blocks! She had the biggest smile on her face coming off the bus.

The Tooth Fairy strikes twice in one week....

So tooth #5 was loose for oh, about the last 2 months- since she lost tooth #3 (her front top tooth). She started wiggling it a little more after losing #4 this past weekend. I came home from an errand Tuesday night and she says "look mom". It's hanging by not much. I go to touch it and it literally falls out. It takes us a minute and her standing up to even find it. The adult tooth is already coming in, so I think it pushed the baby tooth out! Easiest tooth to come out yet!! I wish they were all like that!
