Chloe's playdate

Chloe had a new friend over for a playdate today. Her friend McKenna got make-up for Christmas and decided to bring it over. I let them do as they will with it. I didn't know what to expect when they came downstairs to show me the finished result. Then as they were almost down, Chloe announced, "Here come the Clowns."

Then they made a lovely 2 in cake to decorate and eat for after lunch. The wonderful thing about this cake "thing" that we got from relatives, is that it only takes 30 seconds to bake in the microwave and the cake is so small there is almost no clean up. Oh and I don't feel bad letting them eat it, because even when split in half, I think they each only had about 2 bites. They had lots of fun making it, the "clowns" did!

Snowfall 2012

Well since this could be the only snowfall we have of the year I thought I would post some pictures. It was kind of a weird storm. The sunday before Martin Luther King Jr day, we woke up to icy roads and a dusting of snow. It was melted by the time we left church at 10am. Then around 1pm it started snowing again, really hard. By the time it stopped we had about 1 inch on the road and in the yard. The sun came out and it started melting right away. Chris got Caleb's snow gear on, went and grabbed one of our neighbor kids, and the walked up to the school to build a snowman. They put snow on slides to slide really fast and had fun knocking over their snowman once they were done. Then on Tuesday after Martin Luther King Jr. Day we got about 1/2 inch and it was slushy and a mess. Only about 2/3 of the kids showed up for school, because we have quite a few kids that live up on the hills near the school. They got 2-3 inches up there! It was all melted by lunch. We were hoping for another round, but no such luck.

Tubing with the Johnson boys

Chris & the kids went tubing up on the mountain with Dan, Scott and Luke. They all had lots of fun and can't wait to go again soon.

Christmas Day 2011

I think each year the kids get more and more excited about Christmas. I am still glad to see the magic burning bright within them. I remember as a kid being so excited to open my presents, and now as a parent, I can't wait 'til the kids open their presents to see how excited they get. The looks on their faces are the best presents!

Playing Skylander! We weren't in a rush to get anywhere, so they played the new game for about 3 hours!
Dragonoid Colossus all put together! It the biggest Bakugan I've ever seen!
Chloe with her Hello Kitty umbrella from Aunt Shannon & Uncle Jason. She loves to have her own umbrella to walk with up to school.

Christmas Eve 2011

Christmas Eve at Mike & Val's, with Mark & Patti & David, and of course the cats!

Wings & Waves

This summer a new waterpark opened only about 30-45 minutes away from us. We hadn't been yet, and I found an awesome coupon. So, we decided to go check it out our first weekend of the Winter Break. We picked a great weekend. It wasn't too busy, barely any wait for the slides and it wasn't raining when we got done and went outside to walk and see the planes.

It's at the Evergreen Air and Space Museum. To get to the slides you walk up about 4-5 flights of stairs. All of the slides start from inside a Jumbo Jet. Pretty neat. At some points towards the top of the stairs you can see outside, and the windows are still in the plane and you can see out those too. It also has a wave pool, a smaller pool with 2 basketball hoops, a playstructure that is constantly being dumped on by a huge bucket of water, and a nice big hot tub!

Next time I think we will plan ahead and bring our own food. But it was nice up by the food area, they had a science area for the kids to explore in. So while we waited for our food the kids were able to play and explore instead of pick on each other :- ) Kind of gave them a little break from the water too.

Kid's school Winter parties

Chris had the whole winter break off with me and the kids. Lucky him it started on the kids last day of school, so he got to go to both of their class parties with me. They were so excited that their dad could be there for the party!
