Chloe's first Salon Haircut

So after trying to deal with Chloe's "new do" that she gave herself for oh the past 2 weeks, I decided it was time for professional help. (not for me, for Chloe, for her hair...)
I called my friend and old neighbor, also my hair person, Jeanette. Luckily she had an opening this past weekend, and off Chloe and I went. Chloe did great with getting her hair cut. Usually I do it, and put on a DVD to keep her entertained while I snip.

The only time Chloe freaked out a little, was when the water went on in the sink to wash her hair. It was a little loud and Chloe is paranoid of having water get anywhere on her face unless she does it. But she made it. Now she has a cute new do.

My dear sweet, trying Chloe........

well it's been a while since Chloe really did something to shock me. Tonight we needed to get her ready to leave (we were going to the Roller Derby), I went up stairs and found her shirt off and soaking wet. Hum... what did she do? She said it was from rain... Then I noticed a cup missing from her room and asked where it was. She said in the computer room. I went and found it. Then she says to me "the fish aren't moving". I turn around to see them belly up in the fish tank. These goldfish we have had for 12 YEARS! Chris gave them to me for Valentine's day the year we got married.

So over a course of some questions and answers I come to find out that she decided the tank was too dirty, scooped the fish out of the tank and put them in the bathroom sink, where she proceeded to scrub them with soap. She says to me "they were swimming around in there a little bit until I put the soap in the sink" They are probably both dead now. :- ( (oh and just in case you were wondering where Chris and I were when this was happening- we were downstairs watching an NFL game for about 10 minutes. I actually said at one point "it's pretty quiet upstairs I wonder what she's doing?" I should've listened to my gut and gone upstairs to check things out!)

And while I was in the bathroom I found a bunch of hair in the garbage. Turns out Chloe decided to cut her hair sometime in the last couple of days. I thought it looked a little different today!

I am so not looking forward to the teen years with her!!!

My Mantra for this year

So I found this quote or nice passage on a blog that I frequent. I think it is great for the beginning of a new year.

"I wish I was...I wish I had...I wish I could...I wish I knew.............

Stop wishing and start living. Do your dream. Make the specific plans, and take the effective actions necessary to achieve the life you desire. The next time you find yourself wishing, stop and think, "what can I do right now that will begin to make it so?" Wishing won't make it happen. However, YOU can make it happen."
