Our Rest time walk to find the ducks.

We are so lucky- our new neighborhood has a really awesome bike path that winds around through the neighborhood and down by a pond. I have never seen so many ducks in one pond. It had been months since we last walked past it and so the kids and I decided to go for a walk to find the ducks and see their babies. (mostly I needed the walk since both kids no longer nap- unless we go for a walk with them in the stroller :- )

The cute little baby ducks with their mama.

Don't they just look like little angels when they are sleeping!!! And both of them said "I'm not tired, I don't want to rest."

Playin' in the backyard pool

Here's some pictures of the kids having fun in the kiddie pool with friends Allison and Molly, in our backyard. My favorite of Chloe is her with the hose. (she's just not cool enough so she's got to stick the hose down her swim suit, or on top of her head!!!) Oh and Caleb squatting in front of the swimming pool to wipe off his face from his popsicle.

Enjoy!!!

Rally Races

Chris took the kids to see the Rally Races out at PIR last weekend. They met up with uncle Mike, Aunt Val, Uncle David and his girlfriend Tara, Dennis, Tim and Chase. They got to walk around and look at a bunch of cars, watch the races, play chase in the dirt and even get their picture taken with Travis Pastrana (?) a big time Rally Racer.
(I went to a chick flick all by myself while they were out having fun with daddy.)

Mother's Day

Well my Mother's Day celebration started on Saturday. It's opening day of the Beaverton Farmer's Market. I'll be honest, we don't really go for the fresh fruits and vegetables. We go for the yummy Belgian waffles with strawberries and whip cream, and the giant Cowboy cookies. My favorite. And the kids love to listen to the music of whatever band or singer are performing.

This year there was even a balloon man. So each of the kids got balloon swords and play fought all around the grass. They even went after any other kid nearby with a sword or balloon animal. It was great.

And on Sunday we had a BBQ at our house and then headed to family for dessert. We are truly blessed to have so much family nearby. The kids love going and seeing all Chris's aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents.

A couple more 1/2 marathon pictures

Here's a few pictures my dad took of me at the start of the 1/2 marathon. It was a pretty gray, cloudy, and drizzly, but the perfect weather for running.

Christy's Half Marathon (13.1 miles)

So today was my big race. I have been training for about the last 5 months for the Eugene 1/2 marathon. I decided on it, because I heard it was the flatest one around. It was pretty flat, but there were a couple of hills.

I'm proud of myself. I ran the whole 13.1 miles. (I did do a potty stop just before mile 3, but it was quick, maybe only a minute--all those years of swimming and running to the bathroom paid off!!!) I finished in 2hrs 7min and 12sec. So that is 9:45 pace. Better than I thought I would do. I'm hoping to get some more pictures from my mom's camera. Until then here are mine.

Me before the race at my parents. A little out of focus, but hey I'm not complaining it was like 6am. Hopefully the one from my parents camera is better.

These are pics. of me on the Knickerbocker Bridge and coming down off of it. It was a good thing I was wearing my Oregon State orange shirt so they could spot me easily!!!

Just after Knickerbocker bridge. The kids, Chris, my dad, cousin Stacey and her daughter Brooke were all there cheering me on. In this pic. I was getting ready to high five Chloe. (right before mile 11)

Me in my parents hot tub after the race. Nice and warm, but not very relaxing with Brooke, Chloe and Caleb all trying to splash me while I sat there soaking.
