Swim Lessons

Caleb's class is the one on the left and Chloe's is the one toward the right.

Last week was the first week of swim lessons for the kids. Caleb is in the Pre A class and Chloe is in the A class. They are right next to each other in the water. (The pool is too deep to have the kids just stand there, so they have tables in the water for them to stand on- and there is a big gap between each table/ or class). So of course the first day of class while the teachers are out with other kids doing floats, Chloe says "hey Caleb come over here". Caleb's like ok. He slowly moves along the wall and across the big gap and ends up on Chloe's table. His teacher is like hey where did he go? And Chloe's teachers' like who is this kid!!

They did a great job both of them after that. Caleb did bubbles and floated on his tummy and back with his teacher. Still won't put his eyes in the water but it's only the first week. Chloe did back floats and front floats with her teacher, and is now putting her face in the water for front floats. She even got to the count of 10 on the second day. Now to work on listening and not goofing off during class....

My daughter Chloe is the only child I have ever seen put in a time-out during swim class. In the span of about 15sec. she let go of the wall, splashed all the kids in the class and spit a mouth full of water on her teacher! (if you know me you know I did swim team from the time I was 9years old, taught swim lessons and lifeguarded- and I never once saw anyone have to do a time-out!! Only my Chloe!!) She had to sit up on the deck for 5 minutes while the teachers helped the other kids. She kept peeking up at us in the stands and then repositioning her pouting arms and turning back toward us. Oh goodness. I'm gonna try to bring the camera again this week, cuz if she gets another time-out the pouty arms stance is priceless.

Caleb's Birthday weekend

Last weekend my baby turned 3 years old!! Oh how the time just flies!! Caleb had a friend party on Saturday. There were about 10 little boys here at our house running around. I think Caleb was in heaven. He's never had so many boys over. They played outside in the garage in a bounce house we borrowed from a friend, and then moved into the house and played with all of Caleb's cars, trucks, and trains in his room and the living room. It was a good mix of ages. The older siblings were between almost 4 years old to 5 1/2 years old- so Chloe had some kids to play with too.
Chloe spent most of the party palling around with her friend Mason, from Preschool. His brother was in Caleb's class. Chloe and Mason played Transformers and chased each other and also read books together.

Then Sunday- Father's Day, Caleb's actual birthday, we had a family BBQ at our house. Only a few kids, but that was good, they didn't have to share as much!!! Oh and Caleb and Chase (Chris's cousin's son) got to try out the new sand area in our backyard. It is under the climber. The weather was great and I think everyone had a great time. Oh---and Caleb got to have 2 race car birthday cakes, and blow out candles twice.

Now he just has to get used to his birthday being over. He keeps saying "can I get this for my birthday?" and we used to say- "we'll put it on your list", now we say- "we'll put it on your list for Christmas!!"

Sand/ Water park

We went to a new park in Sherwood with Rilyn & Conlee (and their mom Cari) after the Reptile Man. It has a huge sand pit, that has water that runs into it, and a separate area just for water. Chloe liked digging in the sand and splashing in the water. Caleb found a ball and had fun throwing it in the water and watching it flow down the stairs and to the bottom. Conlee even got in the water at the end. I'm sure we will head back there again this summer.

The Reptile Man

Chloe is wearing a pink/purple tank top and Caleb is in a blue shirt next to her.

This is a picture of where the kids were at in relationship to the Reptile Man- and I am taking the picture from where I am sitting.

The Washington County Libraries do an awesome summer program. They have all kinds of activities for the kids to do throughout the summer and they are all free!!! The first one was yesterday- The Reptile Man. He brought 17 different snakes, lizards and tortises. I chose just a few pictures. The kids had lots of fun watching. There were so many kids there! Their friend Rilyn actually got picked to be a helper for the last snake. It was so big he had I think 8 kids holding it. Rilyn is the little girl in the green shirt 2nd from the end.

Enchanted Forest

We met my cousin Stacey and her daughter Brooke at Enchanted Forest with the kids today. What a perfect day. The weather was just right, there weren't too many people, and the kids were in good moods. Neither Stacey or I had been there since we were kids. They had a blast. The slides I think were the biggest hit. So many more than I remember.

We only went on one ride- The Bobsleds on Ice Mountain. This was the last thing we did before heading home. So Stacey and Brooke rode together and both liked it. I had both Caleb and Chloe in with me. You sit with your legs spread out in front of you. By the middle of the ride both Chloe and Caleb had slid forward and I had to pull them back towards me. Caleb and Chloe were both screaming the whole time. At the end of the ride, Chloe said "Is it over, that was too scary." and Caleb said "that was fun I want to do that again."

Caleb in the crazy house. (I forget what it's really called)

Silly kiddos!! (this what happens when you try to get 3 kids to sit still and smile for a picture!!)

Same 3 silly kiddos- but of course now Chloe is caught pickin' her nose too!

The Witch from Snow White. (Stacey going in with Chloe and Caleb, Brooke is already inside.)--this also had a slide on one side.

A Visit from friends

Summer, Camden and Serayah were in town from Utah this weekend. We haven't seen them in about a year. The kids played and played and played. Then we took them all for a walk to see the ducks nearby. Here's a couple of pictures of the kiddos trying to feed the ducks. They came within about 2 feet of the kids.

It was fun to see Summer and the kiddos, we're looking forward to them moving back!
