So it's been 8 weeks since my arthroscopic hip surgery. Hard to believe, it feels like a lot longer. So I am right on track with my recovery which is slow and steady. The doctor says I can walk, but not for exercise until week 12. Same with the eliptical machine. I was thinking, well I am feeling better, so I tried our eliptical machine, felt fine then next day on the bike at Physical Therapy I started having cramps and spasming in my hip flexor (the front of my leg where the hip is at). So yes I am taking it slow like the doctor says.
I also learned this week that I definitely need to keep up on my stretches. I wasn't able to for a few days because of a bad allergy headache. Well I paid for it by being alot stiffer and having more pain or discomfort getting in and out of a car.
If you watch me walk and move around I look perfectly normal, but if my legs spread to far apart or if I turn to suddenly I have very bad pain and pulling in the front at the surgery site. So I am doing everything the doctor and Physical Therapist say. Then in a few months hopefully I will be able to do more.
My real test will be next month when my cousin Stacey and her daughter come up to go to the Zoo with us. That will be lots of walking. But I am looking forward to it.
Little stories and tid bits to keep you up to date on our happenings and maybe put a smile on your face too!

Chloe's first tooth
So after much wiggling back and forth over the last few weeks, Chloe's first baby tooth came out today. She's been kinda nervous about it and closing up her mouth tight not letting us feel or see it often. We've had to kinda get it movin' though, as there is already a tooth coming in behind her teeth. (you can actually see it poking through the gums already!!!)
Well the last day or so it was really loose, so I thought I would give it one more try today before swimming lessons. Didn't want her losing it in the pool. Wouldn't you know it, I wiggled it then tugged, barely, and it came out. I think Chloe was a little worried at first because of all the blood, but now she's running around the house singing about the Tooth Fairy and baby teeth!!

4th of July
We had a busy and fun 4th of July weekend. We headed over to the coast to join Chris's parents. In just 2 1/2 days we went for a walk on the beach and collected shells, rocks and other treasures. We ate at Mo's, went to the Outlet Mall, watched Fireworks, went to the Aquarium- finally and even went swimming in an outdoor pool. (yes it was actually nice enough for that this weekend!!) It was so much fun. We hadn't been to the beach in 2 years. I think we may have to go again later this summer.
We left early enough in the evening on the 4th to get home in time to watch some BIG fireworks in the hills by our house. It was a pretty cool show.
Hope you all had a wonderful and safe 4th.
