Christy's Surgery

So I normally only talk about or show pictures of the kiddos on this blog, but I wanted to let my family and friends know about my upcoming surgery.

This coming Monday I will be having arthroscopic surgery on my hip. After lots of different diagnosis' and PT I finally had a MRI back in March that determined I have a Labral Tear of my hip. The Labrum is the cartilage that surrounds the hip ball socket. I also have a small piece of bone floating around in there that they will remove. And since we don't know what caused this tear, they will shave down the bone a little while they are in there too.

I'm a little nervous, mostly about the needle that will be giving me a nerve block. But more than anything I am kind of looking forward to the surgery. I have been in constant dull/achy pain, and sometimes excruciating pain since Late August. So needless to say I am looking forward to the surgery and the rehab that will follow. I will be on crutches for at least 2 weeks. And since it is my right hip, I will have to be cleared to drive. So pray that it's only 2 weeks that I can't drive, otherwise the kiddos and I might get on each others' nerves!! Or hope that the weather is really nice so the kiddos can play in the backyard.

I start the Physical Therapy rehab just 2 days after surgery, and will be going 2 times a week for 3 months. If that goes well I will go down to 1 day a week for 3 more months. I have a great support system. Chris will be taking off the first week to care for me and entertain the kiddos. (and get them to school for their last week). Then Chris's mom will be watching them the next week. Hopefully that's enough to help me recuperate.

I plan on being at the kids last day of school celebration on next Thursday and take pictures. I just don't know when I will get pictures on the blog- as that requires me to go up our stairs to upload the photos!!

Well that's all for now. I will try to post an update the week after my surgery.
