The Pig Farm

Yesterday was Chloe's class field trip to the Pig Farm. I was a little worried since we have been having really unpredictable weather lately. One minute beautiful blue skies and sunny, the next minute it's a monsoon with sideways rain. It's been like that all week, and it seems that it goes through that cycle about 5 times during the day...so we had no idea what to expect. Chloe on the other hand, thought it was great that it had been raining because "pigs like mud, so there will be lots of mud for them".

It ended up only lightly raining on us and then the sun came out for most of our time there. It didn't do a big dump of rain on us until we were all safely home.

Out of all the animals we saw, Chloe's favorite by far was the kittens. There were about 5 or 6 kittens and everytime we walked by their cage Chloe wanted to hold one. They were really cute, and only about 2 weeks old. All in all it was a good trip, and not too smelly :- )

Chloe trying to feed the horse.

Chloe holding a kitten. (Her most favorite thing of the whole trip)

Chloe holding a duckling. So cute- her favorite movie for a long time was Fly Away Home.

The baby piggies.

Petting a baby piggie.

A Daddy pig. (I didn't get a really good picture, this guy was HUGE!! I have never seen such a big pig before in my life. The kids were all scared to go in and see them. We had them go take a quick peek and then they were done.)

Emu (it was taller than me and getting very close to my face)

Old time Merry Go Round. I used to play on one of these when I was a kid, but can't remember the last time I have seen one.

Chloe and Ezekiel in front of the calf.

Chloe and Ezekiel so happy watching the kittens.
